  • Serves: 2Prep Time: 5 minutes
  • Cooking Time: 15 – 20 minutes
  • Ingredients

    • 250g – 300g Sirloin Steak.
    • 2 x 2cm Thick Slices of Bread Loaf.
    • 2cm Thick Slices of Bread Loaf.
    • 150g (2 large handful) Mixed lettuce.
    • 2 Carrots, peeled and julienned.
    • Honey Mustard Dressing.
    • 2 handfuls of Special Fried Onions (Recipe Here).
    • Pinch of Salt and Pepper.
    • 2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil.

    Method

    • Rub oil, salt and pepper onto the steak and heat frying pan until it starts to smoke.
    • Put steak in the pan and cook for 3 – 4 minutes. Turn steak over and cook for a further 3 – 4 minutes (cooking times can change if you want it rare or well done), this will make it medium.
    • Put steak on a plate to rest for 5 minutes. While its resting turn the frying pan to low and put the large slices of bread and fry on both sides until it starts to change colour.
    • After steak has rested, thinly slice (approximately 2mm thick).
    • In a bowl mix together the mixed lettuce and carrots.
    • Build the sandwiches by placing the bread down first, then lettuce and carrot mixture, then the thin slices of steak, put as much dressing over the steak as you like and then top with the special fried onions (no bread for the top).
  • This recipe makes 2 sandwiches, you can half the recipe for an individual portion. Also the steak can be cooked a day or two in advanced and served cold or reheated.
